Types of services

  • General trauma: Our general surgeons use operative and non-operative methods to treat acute injuries to to the neck, chest, abdomen and extremities. Coverage is provided at Cabell Huntington Hospital and St. Mary's Medical Center.
  • Orthopaedic trauma: Our orthopaedic surgeons address acute injuries as well as complications from previous injuries such as bones that do not heal or heal in a bad position, infections, implant removal and any other problem or issue involving orthopedic trauma throughout the body in patients of all ages. In addition to Cabell Huntington Hospital, our team also provides coverage for King's Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Rivers Health and Three Rivers Medical Center.
  • Maxillofacial trauma: Our oral and maxillofacial surgeon treats facial and mouth injuries that require emergency care including soft tissue injuries, tooth injuries, broken or fractured facial bones or fractured jaws. Coverage is provided at Cabell Huntington Hospital and St. Mary's Medical Center.
  • Burn trauma: Our team provides coverage for Cabell Huntington Hospital's Burn Intensive Care Unit (BICU), the only burn unit in West Virginia. Burns are complex injuries and require comprehensive care. Each teach member is certified in Advanced Burn Life Support and receives extensive training to care for patients that have suffered serious or life-threatening burn injuries.

We also have neurosurgeons, plastic surgeons, vascular surgeons and critical care physicians on-call to treat patients.
