During your initial appointment, our oral & maxillofacial surgeon will evaluate your condition, explain your diagnosis and discuss treatment options with you. If this is a pre-operative appointment and you will be undergoing IV anesthesia, a consultation and physical examination prior to surgery is required.

When preparing for your visit, please plan to bring:

  • Your surgical referral form from your general dentist.
  • Any recent x-rays you may have, if applicable.
  • A list of medications you are currently taking.
  • Your medical and/or dental insurance card, along with any paperwork from your insurance provider that you are able to complete ahead of time. This will save you time and allow our staff to help you process any claims related to your visit.

A parent or guardian must accompany all patients under the age of 18 at each appointment.

If you have diabetes, high blood pressure, artificial heart valves or any other medical condition that may be of concern, or are currently taking any medication, please let us know before your surgery.

X-Rays

Please have your x-rays forwarded to us from your dentist or physician's office before your appointment with our oral & maxillofacial surgeon. If additional imaging is needed, it can be performed in our office.

Same-Day Surgery

On occasion, we may be able to perform surgery on your first visit. However, your surgery will, most likely, be scheduled during a second appointment.

If you are undergoing any form of anesthesia at your appointment, do not drink or eat eight hours before your appointment.
