As part of our mission to provide comprehensive, quality health care to all patients, Marshall Health is pleased to offer financial assistance programs for uninsured and underinsured patients unable to pay for medically necessary care.

Financial Counseling Services

Our financial counselors will work with you to identify and explain the options available to you. This is a free and confidential service provided by Marshall Health.

Our team can assist you in determining whether you qualify for financial assistance or if you are eligible for federal or state programs that may help pay for your medical services. Our counselors can help direct you to the appropriate agencies that provide these services. Financial assistance from Marshall Health is not a substitute for these programs.

Reduced Cost Waiver Program

A free and confidential service, the program serves patients who are unable to pay their medical expenses. Eligibility is based on family size and income.

Each department and/or division within Marshall Health determines which services are available under the program. Only physician services deemed medically necessary are included. Laboratory, x-ray and other ancillary services provided by third parties or those under contract to Marshall Health are not included.

If you think you may be eligible for these services, please complete the reduced cost services application and return it to one of our financial counselors. Marshall Health representatives are available to assist you Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. To schedule an appointment, call 304.691.1029.

You may also be required to supply copies of pay stubs, W-2 forms, income tax returns and/or other documents necessary to verify your income level. Once a completed application and verification information have been received, the financial counselor will make a written determination regarding your eligibility under the program and return a copy to you.

Applications are held pending review for no more than thirty (30) days until all eligibility documentation has been received. The information you provide on the application, along with your current financial information, will be verified and used to evaluate your ability to pay your bill. Application is required for participation.
