Biography

Dr. Burrell provides neuro-ophthalmology expertise to patients throughout West Virginia and the tri-state area, offering timely diagnoses, answers and treatments options. He is committed to delivering exceptional care and support to improve his patients’ well-being. His clinical interests also include vascular/stroke care and headaches, given their extensive overlap with neuro-ophthalmologic conditions.

Dr. Burrell is also deeply committed to educating the next generation of medical professionals. He inspires a passion for discovery, fosters clinical experience, and shapes compassionate caregivers through collaboration and interaction with patients. He has delivered multiple grand round presentations on topics such as Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension, Giant Cell Arteritis/Non-arteritic Anterior Ischemic Optic Neuropathy, Optic Pathway Tumors, Optic Neuritis, Wernicke’s Encephalopathy, and Ocular Myasthenia Gravis.
