6/28/2024

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Marshall Health Network welcomes fellowship-trained bariatric surgeon Jenalee A. Corsello, M.D., to its team of bariatric surgeons.

In addition to bariatrics, Corsello specializes in minimally invasive surgery, foregut surgery and general surgery.

She joins fellow bariatric surgeons D. Blaine Nease, M.D., and Semeret T. Munie, M.D., associate professors of surgery at the Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine. Corsello, Nease and Munie see patients at Marshall Surgery and the Cabell Huntington Hospital (CHH) Center for Surgical Weight Control. CHH was recently recognized for the 11th time as a Center of Excellence for bariatric surgery by the Clinical Sciences Institute of Optum®, signifying that a hospital or health care institution has met rigorous standards and criteria in providing high-quality care for patients undergoing bariatric, or weight loss, surgery.

Corsello earned her medical degree from Ross University in Miramar, Florida. She completed her general surgery residency at the Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine, where she served as chief resident, followed by a bariatric surgery fellowship at the Advent Health Bariatric and Metabolic Institute in Tampa, Florida.

Corsello serves as an assistant professor of surgery at the Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine. Her research focuses on improving best practices and identifying new approaches within the field of bariatrics to better serve patients and ensure they reach their goals of optimum health and well-being.

Bariatric surgery can be an effective solution to reduce the long-term health effects of obesity.  For more information about the different procedure options, visit marshallhealth.org/bariatrics. To find out if you are a candidate and for referrals, call 304.399.4129.
