Marshall Health launches Center for Healthy Aging

Community open house set for March 8

3/2/2018

BARBOURSVILLE, W.Va. – Marshall Family Medicine has established a Center for Healthy Aging to provide comprehensive primary care for adults 55 and older.

The center, located in the rear entrance of Marshall Family Medicine’s 659 Central Avenue location in downtown Barboursville, provides acute, chronic and preventive care. The center emphasizes independence, restoring function and improving quality of life for older adults.

It is led by Robert B. Walker, M.D., a longtime family medicine physician in southern West Virginia. A former chairman of the department of family and community health at Marshall, Walker returned to Marshall Health in August 2017 after a 10-year hiatus. He is joined by Michael L. Grome, PA-C, a physician assistant with more than 30 years of experience in geriatric patient care.

Marshall Family Medicine will host an open house Thursday, March 8, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Center for Healthy Aging, 659 Central Avenue Rear, Barboursville. This event is open to the public and is an opportunity to meet Walker and Grome.
