Marshall Health expands endocrinology team

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Juman Takkedin, M.D., has joined the endocrinology provider teams at Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine, Marshall Health and Mountain Health Network.
Takkedin, a board-certified, fellowship-trained endocrinologist, has been named an assistant professor in the department of internal medicine at the school of medicine. Her clinical interests include treating patients with endocrine related conditions and disorders including diabetes onset treatment and management, bone health, thyroid ailments, metabolic and nutritional disorders, pituitary and adrenal diseases, osteoporosis. She is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine with subspecialty certification in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism.
She received her medical degree from Weill Cornell Medical College in Ar-Rayyan, Qatar. She finished her internal medicine residency at Unity Health System in Rochester, N.Y., followed by an endocrinology fellowship at Rutgers-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Brunswick, N.J.
“Dr. Takkedin is a valuable addition to the Marshall endocrine department and an integral asset for the community,” said Nesreen A. BenHamed, M.D., section chief of endocrinology.
Takkedin is accepting patients at Marshall Internal Medicine Bruce Chertow Diabetes Center, an outpatient department of Cabell Huntington Hospital, located at the Erma Ora Byrd Clinical Center, 1249 15th Street, Huntington. For appointments or referrals, call 304-691-1000. She is also seeing patients at Marshall Health – Teays Valley, 300 Corporate Center Drive in Scott Depot.
