Marshall Health adds heart failure and transplant specialist

HUNTINGTON, W.Va.Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine, Marshall Health and Cabell Huntington Hospital and dental staff welcome Carlos Rueda, M.D., to their cardiology teams of providers. 

Rueda, a board-certified, fellowship-trained cardiologist, has been named an assistant professor in the department of cardiovascular services at the Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine. He earned his medical degree from the Universidad Industrial De Santander in Bucaramanga, Colombia, followed by an internal medicine residency at the University of Miami’s Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Florida. He completed a cardiology fellowship at the Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in Chicago and an advanced heart failure and transplant fellowship at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. 

Rueda is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine with a subspecialty certification in cardiovascular disease. He is also board certified in nuclear cardiology and echocardiology. He specializes in advanced heart failure and transplant cardiology.  

Rueda is accepting new patients and referrals at Marshall Cardiology, located in the Erma Ora Byrd Medical Center at 1249 15th Street in Huntington. To schedule an appointment, call 304-691-8500.
