HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Kathy Cosco has been named director of government and external affairs for Marshall Health Network (MHN).
Cosco will serve as the liaison for federal, state and local government relations on behalf of MHN, its member hospitals and physician group. Her role will help to foster partnerships with key stakeholders and advocate for policies that align with Marshall Health Network’s mission of “advancing health, inspiring hope, serving you.”
Cosco brings to the role more than 36 years of experience in government relations, public policy and strategic communications. She previously served as the state government and external affairs manager for Frontier Communications, where she collaborated with state and local elected officials, engaged with the Public Service Commission and served as the state liaison for interactions with the Federal Communications Commission. Her previous experience also includes roles as director of communications for the West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection and acting press secretary for the West Virginia Office of the Governor.
Cosco spent the first 20 years of her career in public and media relations for Cabell Huntington Hospital. She returned to health care in 2021, joining MHN as the director of marketing. Since 2023, she has served as the executive director of marketing for Rivers Health, a member of MHN.
