Dr. May is a dedicated and experienced general psychiatrist with a vision to advance integrated psychiatric care for the medically ill. With a special interest in consultation-liaison psychiatry, interventional psychiatry, and addiction psychiatry, Dr. May brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to our team.
Dr. May has a distinguished track record of completing several significant projects aimed at improving behavioral management of patients in acute settings. Notably, Dr. May has been instrumental in constructing Behavioral Emergency Response Teams, enhancing the hospital's ability to address psychiatric crises efficiently and effectively.
In addition to clinical work, Dr. May has conducted groundbreaking research on electroconvulsive therapy (ECT), with a specific focus on the treatment of catatonia in autoimmune encephalitis. This research has contributed valuable insights to the field and underscored Dr. May's commitment to advancing psychiatric care through innovative approaches.
