Dr. Govindaswami is an internationally renowned physician and public health champion, committed to variety of health and social causes for women and children. He has influenced a generation of trainees in medicine, nursing and public health. He returned to Appalachia after 30 years in California and lives in the southeast hills of Huntington, West Virginia, with spouse James Donald Whitaker, Jr,. and their four furry babies, Oso, Tai(ga), Chloe and Kali.
