Dr. Spicer is a native of Raleigh County, West Virginia, and completed his medical training at the University of Kentucky. He has worked as a general community pediatrician in rural and urban Kentucky, and on the White Mountain Apache Reservation in Arizona. Dr. Spicer has practiced pediatric infectious diseases in Ohio, Oklahoma, Arizona and South Africa. He is also a medical epidemiologist and spent seven years working for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Dr. Spicer’s interests include hospital epidemiology, infection prevention and control, antimicrobial stewardship and general pediatric infectious diseases.
