Dr. Sara Aleshire, psychologist, was born and raised in southern West Virginia. She earned her doctorate in psychology from Marshall University, where she was drawn to the PsyD program’s emphasis on serving rural and underserved communities.
Dr. Aleshire completed her predoctoral internship at the Western Colorado VA Health Care System, where she refined her clinical skills working with veterans in diverse adult populations. During this training, she gained extensive experience utilizing evidence based approaches, including acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), DBT informed treatment, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and trauma focused interventions.
She went on to complete postdoctoral training in women’s behavioral health at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, further specializing in concerns unique to women across their lifespan. Her professional interests include women’s behavioral health, comprehensive assessment of ADHD and working as a generalist with adults.
Dr. Aleshire integrates evidence-based practices into her work to support individuals in improving cognitive, emotional and behavioral well-being, with an approach that is both collaborative and informed by the latest clinical research.
