COVID-19 Vaccine & Booster Clinic

Updated guidance from the CDC allows for millions of Americans who are at highest risk for COVID-19 to receive a Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 booster shot to help increase their protection. According to the CDC, COVID-19 vaccines may be administered without regard to timing of other vaccines, including the flu shot.
Dedicated COVID-19 vaccine and booster clinics are available this week in the Harless Auditorium (ground floor of the Marshall University Medical Center). Just walk in. No appointment necessary.
The booster is also available at:
- Marshall Pharmacy in the Marshall University Medical Center (open 24/7)
- By appointment at Marshall Family Medicine (304-691-1100), Marshall Internal Medicine (304-691-1000) or Marshall Pediatrics (304-691-1300).
- Cabell-Huntington Health Department COVID-19 Vaccine Center next to Best Buy open Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday: 8 a.m. - 4 p.m., Thursday: 8 a.m. - 8 p.m., and Saturday: 8 a.m. - Noon.
- COVID-19 vaccines are also available at a number of pharmacies in the area.
The CDC recommends:
- People 65 years and older and residents in long-term care settings should receive a booster shot of Pfizer-BioNTech’s COVID-19 vaccine at least 6 months after their Pfizer-BioNTech primary series,
- People aged 50-64 years with underlying medical conditions should receive a booster shot of Pfizer-BioNTech’s COVID-19 vaccine at least 6 months after their Pfizer-BioNTech primary series,
- People aged 18-49 years with underlying medical conditions may receive a booster shot of Pfizer-BioNTech’s COVID-19 vaccine at least 6 months after their Pfizer-BioNTech primary series, based on their individual benefits and risks, and
- People aged 18-64 years who are at increased risk for COVID-19 exposure and transmission because of occupational or institutional setting may receive a booster shot of Pfizer-BioNTech’s COVID-19 vaccine at least 6 months after their Pfizer-BioNTech primary series, based on their individual benefits and risks.

Booster doses for Moderna, Johnson & Johnson and information for mixing and matching different types of vaccines is expected from the CDC in the coming weeks.
