Biography

Bobbi Jo Steele, MPH, RDH, CTTS, joined the Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine 15 years ago. She manages the school's community oral health projects and programs and dental grants. During her time at Marshall, she has pursued her passion for helping improve the overall health of fellow West Virginians and all of Appalachia. Bobbi engaged nationally on oral health issues, serving on various boards and committees and as a content expert. Bobbi Jo led the development and implementation of the first statewide school-based oral health program, the first state Oral Health Plan and the initial statewide school-aged oral health surveillance for WV and is one of the founding members of the WV Oral Health Coalition. She spends her free time outdoors, working her small homestead, kayaking, hiking and reading. Her three children, Nick, Joseph and Gianna are her proudest accomplishments.
