Medical center parking changes due to construction

Welcome from the Chair

HolroydThe Marshall University Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine is dedicated to excellence in patient care, education and research. With a rich history of providing mental health care to the Tri-State area, the Department continues to grow in its services and mission. We are continuing to expand our psychiatric faculty and clinical services to provide even better care for those in the community. And while Marshall Psychiatry has always provided excellence in the training of medical students, we are excited to be increasing our educational role. We now have an ACGME accredited Psychiatry Residency Program, which will allow increased opportunities and access for training and psychiatric care throughout the area. Our first group of psychiatric residents began in July 2015. In addition, we have a new full time Psychology Internship training program, which also started in the summer of 2015. In the future, we are also planning the development of specialty psychiatric fellowship training.  In doing so, we hope to provide the region and beyond with well-trained psychiatrists and psychologists, to better serve the mental health needs of West Virginia and the entire Tri-State area.  Our faculty has also been pursuing clinical and educational research to help better understand and improve patient care. Whether you are looking for further information about our clinical services, educational opportunities or research, I welcome your interest in our department, programs and people.
