Gerry Bryant, RN, CDE returned to the Chertow Diabetes Center team in 2010. She attended Marshall University and graduated from St. Mary’s School of Nursing in 1995. She received her diabetes education certification (CDE) and was also the Diabetes educator at the Diabetes Center from 1995-2000. She then spent 10 years with a focus on Geriatrics while she was the Director of Nursing at the Woodlands Retirement Community from 2000-2010. She is now the Diabetes Education Program Coordinator at the Diabetes Center. Our team goals are to deliver high quality diabetes education to our patients and promote the awareness of diabetes to our community. “I believe the patient is the driver of their diabetes self-management and our team provides the directions to assist them on the road to optimal health….Let’s get started!!”
Heather Venoy, RD, LD, CDE came to the Chertow Diabetes Center in September 2015. She graduated from Marshall University with a Bachelor’s degree in Dietetics. She completed her Dietetic Internship at Spalding University, Louisville, KY. In December 2014, Heather successfully past the Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) exam; which identifies her and other professionals who are CDEs, as those who have reached the level of mastery in understanding diabetes . Since the age of 16 when Heather was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes, she has had a passion to help others live a healthy life with diabetes. She looks forward to providing diabetes, weight management, and healthy eating education to the community. Heather’s experience has included a variety of disease states and interventions in the inpatient hospital setting and previous work experience as an Diabetes Educator. She looks forward to working with the amazing team at the Chertow Diabetes Center and helping to make our community a healthier place!.... Let’s Get Started!
Amy Zimmerman, RN, CDE has been an Endocrine nurse in the Chertow Diabetes Center for the last 4 years. She attended Marshall University and graduated from St.Mary’s School of Nursing in 2009. She successfully passed her Certification in Diabetes Education exam in July 2016. Amy joins the Chertow Diabetes Center team with the goal of providing diabetes education, including insulin pump training to her patients, as well as providing diabetes awareness to the community. “I am eager for the new adventure and look forward to providing the best care to my patients ……Let’s Get Started!”
